If you are in Possidi with your own car and you have some time available, it is worth the extra mile to get to Afitos. It is a traditional village with stone houses situated on a hill, overlooking the beautiful Aegean sea. Don't miss it!
When you enter the beautiful village of Afytos, you will have to park your car at some point and continue walking, because it’s traditional center is a pedestrian zone. All around you you will see magnificently crafted stone-houses and a square with a church from 1859 (Aghios Dimitrios). Nearby is also a Folklore museum, worth a visit if you find it open.
After this square you will enter a narrow street that takes you to the most famous attraction of Afytos, the cliffside pedestrian cobblestone road with a breathtaking panoramic view of Aegean sea from above. This street is full of cafes, bars, fish restaurants and handmade art galleries, all overlooking the sea, reminding us of another favorite Greek attraction: Santorini island. “On the rocks” is a nice café-bar for an early drink as well as “Fortuna bar”. “Mageia” is a more romantic spot at the end of the road with many small balconies with th same great view.
